your life. One is as if nothing is a miracle. The other is, as if everything is a miracle."

Every time I am invited to a dinner for the 'Retired' folks in town - I feel as though they are trying to get my goat. Why would I want to be around all those 'old people'.

All my life I've decorated with mirrors to provide light and an image of enlarged space. Yes, of course, I enjoyed looking in them too. Nowadays I seldom look into a mirror although I know they are there.

Not because I am that ugly, but it simply does not matter. I FEEL, more than ever - I rely on my instincts. Even when I was dancing, I preferred bare foot to FEEL the floor, the music, the sensation of being alive.

The necessity of distractions dictated by jobs or imagination are suddenly GONE. I am finally free to be - just the way I want to be. The essence of my being is not in the mirror, but in the FEEL of the day.

I wake up later than I used to. A good stretch before getting out of the warmth of my water bed and listening to the demands of my cats in the morning is a great way for the day to begin. The glass bricks of the bathroom wall tell me the kind of day it is before I stick my nose out into it.

Life is different now, but so much more enjoyable than I ever expected. Yes, there are aches and pains. But then a walk through the cemetery reminds me that I would rather have the aches and pains.

You adjust, the same way adjustment was necessary to the other life stages: marriage, children, job(s). It is a constant motion, from one stage to the next.

The coffee maker is ready, all I have to add is the coffee and my brew is getting ready as I feed the cats. Once the wonderful aroma is in the mug with real cream - I take my constitutional walk through the garden. Maybe nothing had changed but it is always a pleasure. That first cup is the best part of the day. The second mug is consumed while checking my mail and downloading last night's TV series from the US.

What are your retirement plans? Do you have family you want to be near? That could be a determining factor. Do you want to travel? Europe is a good place for that - a train ride or a plane ride will get me to those places I read about as quickly as going from one state to the other in the US.

You are concerned about language? Hungary is very good for that too - many people speak English and they are used to foreign workers and expats.

If you are beginning to feel that I'm trying to tempt you - you are probably correct to some extent. I am certainly happy to answer any questions you may have or put you in touch with others who can answer.

I've found rest and recreation here that is affordable and most agreeable. Why not share it with others.

Woodstock seems like a lifetime ago.

The following list of on-line cookie recipes was making the circuits a few years back in Christmas mailers. I was fascinated by it then and still am so I thought I would share it with those of you who love cookies.

Chill the milk and let's begin.
